Gold Medal Winner Syrah Wine
Syrah 2010 wine made from Syrah grapes coming from Argos vineyards in Cappadocia, processed by the local wine producer Turasan, was granted a gold medal in Syrah du Monde International Wine Competition. This is the first time a Turkish wine is awarded a gold medal in the competition that saw 423 wines from 28 countries this year and 31 of them received gold medals.
"Turasan –Argos Kızılırmak Vineyards Syrah 2010", the first wine of the Argos Vineyards in Nevşehir-Gülşehir region with a high altitute and harsh climate conditions, has received and exceptional 96 points from MW Sarah Abbott last year in the Masters of Wine Tasting held in İstanbul. It was also selected to be the best Cappadocian wine in Turkish wine & spirits magazine Gusto's Cappadocian Wines Tasting.
2010 vintage, aged in French oak barrels for 12 months, has a limited production of 4 thousand bottles and can be found only in the argos in Cappadocia hotel in Cappadocia or Gile Restaurant (www.gilerestaurant.com) in İstanbul.
