Set below an ancient fortification on the hilltop village of Uçhisar, the argos in Cappadocia property is situated in the heart of the Cappadocia region in central Turkey. From the hotel’s terraces and courtyards, guests admire spectacular panoramas of Pigeon Valley, with its meringue-like rock deposits, and the majestic peak of Mount Erciyes in the distance.

The area’s breathtaking topography is a chromatic study in pink, red, yellow and white drawn from layers of soft tufa rock made of volcanic ash that were molded into fantastical shapes by the passage of time. These rocks slowly erode to form fairy chimneys, used as dwellings for centuries, which dot the landscape to create a remarkable display of organic architecture.

Among the stunning cultural treasures on offer is the open-air museum at Göreme, a UNESCO World Heritage Site featuring a number of churches, including Karanlık Kilise, which date back a millennium and contain a highly valued selection of hand-painted frescoes.
